Chris Tolbert

  • Meet Founding and Managing Partner, Chris Tolbert! Chris is a native of Austin, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from Huston Tillotson University and his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. Mr. Tolbert also holds an LLM in Trial Advocacy from Temple University School of Law.

    Attorney Tolbert began his legal career as a public defender in the State of New Mexico. After two years of vigorously defending the rights of the indigent and accused, Attorney Tolbert left the public defender’s office and founded Tolbert Law. He has had considerable success in the courtroom as both a criminal and civil litigator. At one point in his career as a criminal defense attorney, Attorney Tolbert won six (6) consecutive not-guilty verdicts—which is not an easy task. He has defended clients in several homicide and other high-profile cases with extraordinary results. As a civil litigator, Attorney Tolbert has secured multiple six figure judgments for his clients after jury trial and by way of settlement.

    Attorney Tolbert has also won multiple awards for his advocacy, most recently being named as a Texas Super Lawyer. He also teaches litigation and legal practice to younger lawyers and paralegals and serves as a guest lecturer at Huston Tillotson-University, alma mater.

    Attorney Tolbert is a member of the Texas Bar College, an honorary society of qualified lawyers who maintain the highest ethical standards. He is also a graduate of Leadership Fort Worth, a board member of the Fort Worth African American Bar Association and the National Bar Association. Attorney Tolbert enjoys spending time with his wife and sons, giving back to the community through various endeavors, and volunteering through his local church One Community.

Gerald F. Bulloch II

  • Meet Gerald Bulloch. Gerald a proud native of Dallas, Texas, brings a deep-rooted commitment to his community and a passion for justice to his role as an Associate Attorney at Tolbert Law P.C. With a dedication to excellence and a diverse range of experiences, Attorney Bulloch is poised to provide exceptional legal representation to his clients.

    Attorney Bulloch earned his Bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University in 2018, laying the foundation for his legal journey. He then pursued his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law, where he distinguished himself both academically and through his extracurricular activities.

    During his time at UNT Dallas College of Law, Mr. Bulloch showcased his legal acumen and advocacy skills by placing 4th in the prestigious Thompson Knight Intra-Mural Moot Court Competition. Additionally, he was a dedicated member of the Black Law Student Association, where he actively contributed to fostering diversity and inclusion within the legal community.

    At Tolbert Law P.C., Mr. Bulloch focuses his practice on Criminal, Family, Personal Injury and appellate matters. Mr. Bulloch also has a passion for advocating for juveniles and has developed a unique expertise in juvenile law. Brianna Bishop

  • Meet Brianna Bishop, a proud native of Austin, Texas, whose journey from the world of performing arts to the realm of law is as dynamic as it is inspiring.

    Graduating with a degree in Theater and Dance from the University of Texas at Austin, Brianna initially followed her passion, dedicating two decades to teaching dance. However, her inherent curiosity and desire for intellectual challenge led her to pursue a new path. Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a commitment to making a difference, Brianna embarked on a legal education journey at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Embracing the rigorous curriculum with the same fervor she brought to the stage, she quickly distinguished herself as a dedicated student with a keen eye for detail and a passion for justice.

    In 2020, Brianna found her professional home at Tolbert Law, where she seamlessly blends her diverse skills and experiences. As the firm’s administrative and business operations manager, she ensures that every aspect of the firm runs smoothly and efficiently. Moreover, in her role as a client specialist, Brianna serves as a compassionate guide for individuals navigating the complexities of the legal system, offering unwavering support and personalized attention to each client.

Rob Colvin

  • Meet Rob Colvin. Rob is a proud native of Austin, Texas. Rob is the Firm’s Private Investigator. Rob Colvin's journey is a testament to versatility and dedication across multiple domains. A decorated combat veteran of the U.S. Army, he exemplifies valor and service to his country. Rob furthered his commitment to public service as a Senior Paramedic with the City of Austin EMS, where his expertise and compassion made a significant impact.

    Rob is a graduate from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing. Rob previously worked in corporate America as a senior executive at AT&T, Dell, and Southwestern Bell.

    Rob began Waterloo Investigations in 2013. He has over a decade of experience in investigating matters both criminal and civil.

    In 2023, Rob happily joined the Tolbert Law Firm, further diversifying his professional portfolio and bringing his expertise to a new arena.

    Adding to his diverse skill set, Rob is a licensed commercial pilot and an avid aviation enthusiast. His passion for flying reflects his adventurous spirit and thirst for new challenges.

Candice Patrick

  • Candice Shantell Patrick is a passionate attorney who gives each case her all–even if it means late nights and early mornings! Attorney Patrick received her Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law where she graduated magna cum laude. She also served as a law clerk for the University’s General Counsel where she assisted in advising the Board of Trustees, handling transactional contracts, and litigation defense. Attorney Candice went on to be accepted into both the Texas Bar and the Northern District of Texas Federal Court.

    After being admitted to the Bar, Candice founded Shantell Law, PLLC, where she serves the Dallas Fort- Worth community. Her law firm provides a wide range of business, divorce, and personal injury services, but is most notable for guiding business owners through the legal aspects of business ownership.

    Aside from providing direct legal services, Candice also created Sophisticated Business Owners, LLC ® with the goal of teaching business owners how to review business contracts, acquire trademarks, and properly form their LLC. This education based business arose out of Candice observing that many business owners could not afford to hire their own attorney, but could be taught how to “Do It Themselves.”

    Since then, Candice has been featured on Fox, CBS, NBC, the 850 Credit Club, Eric Elliot’s Podcast, and Voyage Dallas as a Rising Star.

    In her spare time, Candice enjoys traveling, yoga, aviation at the Addison airport, and spending time with her daughter at the local arcades.

Kendyll Horne

With a strong academic background and a commitment to community service, Kendyll is an invaluable asset to our team. Kendyll recently graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice, where she excelled academically and demonstrated her commitment to understanding the complexities of the legal system. With aspirations of becoming a licensed attorney herself, Kendyll is eagerly preparing to attend law school in the near future, driven by her desire to advocate for justice and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. As a Legal Assistant, Kendyll supports our legal team with dedication and attention to detail. Her strong organizational skills and eagerness to learn make her an invaluable resource in managing caseloads, conducting legal research, and assisting with client communications. Kendyll's commitment to excellence and her proactive approach to her work make her a valuable asset to our firm. Outside of her professional pursuits, Kendyll is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where she engages in meaningful community service initiatives and contributes to positive change in her local community.
